Los Angeles Proposal Photographer
(Wedding & Engagement Photography Gallery Below) As a professional proposal photographer, I get the chance to meet a lot of couples at possibly the most beautiful moment in their lives. Weddings are wonderful, but proposals are uniquely special.
Most guys in search of a proposal photographer know that this moment is special and want to be able to share the photos with family and friends. It’s not only a nice thought, it’s forever captured, so even their future children can see their parent’s proposal. Here’s a quick proposal story:
Rob had planned to propose to Jessica for quite some time. He knew which ring to buy, where he wanted to propose, and he knew the perfect time to do it. He wanted to propose somewhere where she would never expect it, while also being a place that meant something special to both of them. They have a ritual of surfing at a specific surf break near Santa Monica, every weekend. With Thanksgiving around the corner, Rob was in search of a proposal photographer who could capture this moment.
Rob was thrilled to find out that I am not the typical proposal photographer. My rates are fair and I didn’t charge for consultation time. Once we solidified a way to capture his proposal without tipping Jessica off, we were excited!
I set up at a distance, with an assistant, to capture their bike ride to the beach. She had no idea just how special this Thanksgiving morning surf session was going to be.
Rob explained his concerns about Jessica’s ability to observe her surroundings. He felt she might think something was up if she saw my camera. This would make it impossible for me to get closer for the shots. So my assistant and I decided to find a way to come out in the open. We posed as journalists for a made-up surfing blog. We introduced ourselves to Jessica and said we wanted a few photos of surfers, as we were writing our next blog about people who surf on holidays. It worked! We were able to snap a few photos of them before the moment and it gave us freedom to get closer than we would have otherwise.
Rob used blue tape to write “Will You Marry Me?” on his surfboard. In the photo above, you can see it peeking out a little from a draped towel.
While Jessica began to stretch, Rob revealed his message written on his surfboard.
After revealing I was a proposal photographer, Jessica asked if we wouldn’t mind getting some shots of them enjoying their first surf session as an engaged couple. Absolutely!
Meet Mark and Hanna, a couple who have survived a long distance relationship for years.
Mark convinced Hanna that he found a coupon deal for a gondola ride in Marina del Rey. She said, sure, “why not? I’ve never been on a gondola before.” Little did she know that he had planned this romantic proposal for months.
Mark had planned this proposal out so well, that many or his and her relatives flew in from out of town to watch the moment from the shore.
I’m planning on having a family gathering after my proposal to celebrate. Do you shoot events like this?
- Yes, this is something very common for a lot of proposals. I can travel to your celebration location and capture the event too.
- Contact me so we can customize a package specifically for you .
I need a proposal photographer who can help me with ideas and organization. Can you help with this?
- Yes, I’d be happy to discuss ideas and arrangements so that we get everything just right.
I’m not having a party afterward, so I’l need the photos as soon as possible, to share with my family. How fast is your turn-around time?
- I can deliver the images to you as soon as the same day. Just let me know during your inquiry.
- You’ll receive the images already set for the web as well as images sized for printing.
